Susan's Creative background
In 2008 the Lord told me to bloom where I was planted in my little corner of the world. He has such a sense of humor, as I am literally in the lower southeast corner of Washington state at the mouth of Hell's Canyon.
My very tiny studio and gallery are where I get to connect with Heaven, and bring it to earth through my art and writing through many different art mediums of acrylics, pastels, watercolors, and pencils.
My experience
My journey into the creative world of art began as a little girl in Kindergarten and continued as I pursued my BA in Commercial Art from Pensacola Christian College. Throughout my life, I've embraced various art forms, including teaching, graphic design, illustrations, fine art, and floral design, allowing my passion for creativity to blossom in diverse ways. Now, the Lord has given me the honor to see into His Kingdom and paint what I see.
My Dream
"Capturing the Essence" embodies the essence of being a visionary, seeing deeply with the eyes of my heart into my subject matter. I believe it's my divine gift to perceive the spirit of my subjects, capturing glimpses of their life, light, and love, and translating it onto paper or canvas for everyone to appreciate and cherish.

About Susan
Inspirational Artist & Author - Bringing Heaven to Earth
During recess I began "practicing" for that dream ahead - to be an artist! At the tender age of six, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior continued to grow in love with the Lord. It was my life-long dream to create hope and encouragement for others through my art.
After receiving my BA Commercial Art from Pensacola Christian College, I went on to teach college art classes, work as an illustrator, and as a graphic designer. Now, I am a visionary artist and author, bringing Heaven to Earth in visual ways for you to enjoy and connect with your loving Creator.
With joy, I'm thrilled to share my treasures with you! In my published books—Color My World, Enjoy Roses Every Day - Inside, Vol. 1, and Enjoy Roses Every Day - Outside, Vol. 2—I've poured years of learning and gathering into colorful illustrations and writings.
I'm grateful to work from my home studio, S. Pettit Gallery, a cozy space where I paint, draw, write, and let my imagination soar amidst roses, flowers, and angels. This peaceful sanctuary is where I create prophetic paintings, commissioned fine art, and share my knowledge to help others flourish in their artistic endeavors. Drawing inspiration from spending time with our loving Creator fuels my passion and creativity with Him and my art.
